Quaver Pre-K Curriculum FAQs

In 2016, QuaverMusic launched the first lessons of a complete Pre-K general music curriculum, and we’ve added a few lessons to that each year since. During this development period we’ve provided access, free of charge, to all license holders with a kindergarten curriculum license. Our hope has been that our customers would be able to use the early resources with students, offer feedback as we continued development, and have time to thoroughly evaluate the resources for themselves.

And that has most definitely been the case! The positive feedback we have received on these lessons has been wonderful. We love that teachers love the Pre-K lessons and have seen positive results in their youngest students.

As we near the completion of this new curriculum product, we want to want to answer a few common questions to make sure teachers have the information they need to make a decision for their school or district.

When will the rest of the Pre-K Lessons be completed?

We are excited to say that the full curriculum of 36 lessons is scheduled for completion in July 2020, in time for the 2020-2021 school year. Until that time, all users with access to the Kindergarten curriculum will continue to see Pre-K lessons available in their accounts.

I saw a pop-up notification about my preview of Quaver’s Pre-K Curriculum ending when the curriculum is complete. What does this mean?

This message went live in Quaver users accounts in September 2019. It is activated when a user clicks the “Pre-K” button on their Lesson Selection Menu:

This message simply alerts you to the fact that access to Pre-K has been extended as a long-term preview to all teachers with Kindergarten curriculum access for the past few years.

Once complete, the Pre-K curriculum will need to be added to an existing license for the 2020-21 school year. Each grade of the curriculum is licensed separately, but Pre-K can easily be added to your K-5, K-6, or any other bundle of grades.

We are happy to answer any questions about what your license includes now and how to add Pre-K for the 2020-2021 school year. Your school or district may have already added the completed Pre-K Curriculum as a part of your Quaver license already while others have not. Please contact us at QuaverMusic.com/contact to learn more.

I prefer the Pre-K Lessons over the Kindergarten lessons. Can I swap these lessons out?

Your Quaver rep would be happy to talk about that possibility with you, but we also want you to know we are reviewing the K-5 lessons as well. We have plans for exciting updates in the coming years as a part of our Curriculum 2.0 project. In fact, you’ll see some of the things you love about Pre-K appearing there soon. It’s really helpful to know what teachers love so we can continue to add it to future releases every quarter! We are constantly evolving and adapting to meet the needs of our teachers.

How much does it cost to have the Pre-K Curriculum for 2020-2021?

Consistent with our grade-level pricing, the Pre-K curriculum is available for purchase for the 2020-2021 school year at a cost of $280 per year. A Pre-K-5th grade license is $1,960 per year. That includes unlimited student accounts, gradebook, training and all of the Quaver features that help meet your unique teaching style. For most elementary schools, this works out to about $4 per student, per year, for world class music resources—updated four times a year with new content at no charge.

Moving Forward

As Quaver continues to grow and change, we are excited to have an amazing community of teachers like you along for the ride. We rely heavily on teacher feedback and we are always open to your thoughts and ideas.

One of the major benefits of a digital curriculum is the ability to instantly add new resources. For example, our growing library of over 1,200 songs is updated quarterly. In the past 12 months alone, we have added 97 new songs!

You can always see what’s new by visiting our Quarterly Updates page at QuaverMusic.com/Info/Quarterly-Updates.

We have a lot of exciting resources on the horizon and as a result, our company has grown to over 110 employees. In fact, we’ve added over a dozen employees to our content team alone so we can efficiently create the resources you’ve come to love from Quaver.

As our team grows, so will the scope of our resources and we can’t wait for you to see what’s next.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us. We are excited for the rest of this school year and beyond and are delighted to have you all as members of our growing Qmunity.
