Adobe Flash FAQs

IMPORTANT UPDATE, January 15th, 2020:

Early this morning, you may have experienced issues logging in to your QuaverMusic resources. We want to apologize for the interruption to your valuable teaching time. The issue has been resolved for most users, but if you continue to experience issues, please contact our team at (866) 917-3633 or Info@QuaverMusic.com for continued assistance.

We also want to share some context and explain our plan moving forward. The login issue was caused by a conflict with Adobe Flash. To quickly solve the problem, we temporarily redirected all users to the Non-Flash version of our site, avoiding Quaver Street and the Adobe Flash conflict. That access was restored at around 9:30am Central Time, and users can now again choose the Flash option to access Quaver Street.

As Adobe discontinues support of Flash at the end of 2020, we are working to make all our Quaver’s World resources available without Flash by that date. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience as we focus on supporting the core standards-based resources that teachers rely on across the country.

If you continue to experience issues logging in, we recommend that you clear your browser’s cache/cookies and log in directly to QuaverMusic.com. If you access QuaverMusic through a Single Sign On provider and have the option to use Chrome instead, we recommend it.

1. I heard that Adobe was doing away with Flash. What does that mean for Quaver?

Quaver cloud-based curriculum resources were initially developed using Adobe Flash. When Adobe announced it would stop supporting the Flash plug-in entirely by December 31, 2020, it became clear that Flash was not a future-proof software that we could rely on. We immediately began our transition away from it, and that has been a major company-wide project ever since.

As of August 2018, the curriculum resources available to teachers and students no longer require the use of Adobe Flash. That was our first priority and it has been successfully received in over 8,000 schools across the United States.

Our flagship music website – QuaverMusic.com – does still offer a Flash alternative, which contains additional, bonus content (musical games and avatars, etc.). Teachers and students may still opt to access Quaver’s World using Flash until Flash’s end-of-life in December 2020, but it is not a requirement for the standards-based curriculum resources we sell.

2. Which QuaverMusic.com Experience should I choose?

When accessing QuaverMusic.com on a device that allows Flash, you will be prompted to choose the experience you prefer.

With Flash
Users will be taken to the Quaver Street, where they can access all of Quaver’s World in Flash. The Teacher or Student tab will load all teaching resources and assigned student resources optimized for any device, iOS included. Teachers will have access to Quaver’s Classic Creatives and Updated Creatives applications, upgraded versions of QBackBeat, QComposer, QGrooves, SongBrush, QSoundFx, QStrum, and QSynth.
Without Flash
Users will be taken directly to their Teacher or Student Dashboard, skipping the Quaver Street, to find all teaching resources and assigned student resources accessible on any device, iOS included. At this time, this experience does not include Quaver’s World apps, games, or contests and features Updated Creatives applications, upgraded versions of QBackBeat, QComposer, QGrooves, SongBrush, QSoundFx, QStrum, and QSynth.

Select the Quaver Street to access the classic QuaverMusic.com experience and follow the prompts in your browser to allow Flash. Select the Quaver Dashboard to continue to the new, experience without Flash. The Quaver team is working to translate remaining student resources out of Flash by the Fall of 2020.
